However, don't wait for us to come to you, if you got into a conversation with one of the walkers and are interested in what they had to say, then come along one Sunday (tea and biscits are provided FREE after the evening service! - not that we are offering bribes you understand!), and have a chat to some of us. What was Walk Kent? As part of a Kent-wide evangalistic mission, we had 10 men staying at the church from Saturday 29th May through to Wednesday 2nd June. With a number of the members of the church they went out GOSSIPING THE GOSPEL to the various clubs, pubs, door and scores of people in the area HOLIDAY CLUB This was held over 3 days - 1sdt, 2nd, 3rd June 1999, and was open to all 5-11 year olds. The theme was `Around the world in three days'. All of the games were inextricably linked to the theme, with the winning team gradually putting a giant jigsaw of their designated country together. All of the activities were also concentric to an enormous 7 feet (DIY hot-air balloon). With 160 floating helium balloons around (100 were launched the following Saturday (5th June) that was enough to keep even the most `inflated' high-flyers occupied. They also took home they very own Helium filled smiley face balloon. Saturday 5th June A BIG barbeque was held at the church, where the adults saw all the hard work the children (and adults!) had cramed into three days. The finalle was the launch of the 100+ helium balloons! - mine was in the lead before they all went out of site! p.s. if you per chance have found my balloon please email me, my address was on the back ([email protected]). | |||||||||||||||||||||||
